Frequently Asked Questions (Newborn)

Q – I don’t know yet when my baby will be born. When should I schedule my newborn session with you?

A – The best time to schedule your newborn appointment is at least a month before your due date.  I will block out a period of time around your due date, and once the baby is born, I ask that you contact me as soon as possible.  For the best results possible, I prefer to schedule newborn appointments for when the baby is about one week old.   Older babies start to become stronger and more alert, and no longer naturally curl into those classic newborn poses.  Newborn acne and colic tend to flare up around two weeks of age as well.  If you have already had your baby please don’t hesitate to contact me anyway.  I always do my very best to accommodate last minute newborn sessions.

Q – Do you have a studio?

A – Yes! I have just recently re-organized my home to allow for newborn sessions in my home in Citrus Heights, CA.  It has been a game changer for me.  Something about being in my own space allows me to feel more confident and creative.  I really feel like my work has taken off since I have been inviting my clients over.  The sessions tend to go more quickly and smoothly since the parents/family won't need to wait for me to set up, or switch between props, etc.  You will also have full access to my entire library of props and backdrops.  I have found it's less stress for both mom and baby. 

However, if you would still prefer, I can still happily travel to your home with my portable studio for an additional fee of $75.  

Q – Do you provide props for newborn sessions?

A – Yes! I am well stocked with adorable props and backdrops. I will choose which props to bring to your session based on your answers on your NEWBORN SESSION REQUEST.  

Q – How many pictures will I get?

A – A standard session will yield 20-25 beautiful, fully edited photographs for you to choose from.

Q - Are sibling and family shots included?  

A - Of courseI  Family is everything and I know how important those images can be.  I can take sibling and family pictures at the very beginning, or very end of your session.  

Q – Is a disk (or usb, or flash drive, or digital download) included in the session fee?

A – No.  Prints and digital photos are purchased separately, after you review your online gallery.  However, your session fee can be credited towards any digital package of your choice.

Q- Do you provide Props? 

A - Yes we have a wonderful collection of strange and wonderful props, and given enough notice we can acquire props on theme for your special event! 

Q - Do you customize the print out? 

A - Yes! Given enough notice, We can collaborate on a design based on the theme of your event! 

Q - How many prints do we get?

A-  I will set it to automatically print 2, and you can add unlimited copies (everyone gets a print) 

Q - I am planning a small party and I won't need the booth for the minimum number of hours. Do we still have to buy the 3 hour package? 

A - We can work with you!  Please do inquire about custom packages!
